Privacy policy

This policy covers buttersoftware.co, the site you are reading. It says what the site collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Butter ERP, the product, keeps its customers’ business data under each customer’s agreement with us, not under this policy.

Butter Software LLC (“Butter”, “we”) runs this site. We are a California company at 1667 N Main St, Suite B212, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Write to hello@buttersoftware.co about anything here.

What we collect

When you book a demo, the form sends us your name, company, work email, the system you use today, and, if you give them, your phone number and a message. We also record when you sent it.

When you visit any page, your browser sends the usual request details: your IP address, browser, the page and the time. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, processes these to deliver the page and to protect it from abuse.

The site sets no cookies of its own. It runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and it has no script at all. Cloudflare may set a cookie that is strictly needed to stop automated abuse.

How we use it

We use a demo request to reply to you, arrange the demo, and prepare for it. We use request details only to run and secure the site. We do not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to build a profile of you.

Who else receives it

Cloudflare hosts the site and stores demo requests for us. Google serves the site’s fonts, so your browser asks Google for them and Google receives your IP address and browser details. Both act under their own privacy terms. We disclose information to anyone else only when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

How long we keep it

We keep a demo request for 24 months after our last contact with you, then delete it. If you become a customer, our agreement with you governs what we keep. Cloudflare keeps request logs for a short time under its own policy.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete what we hold about you. Write to hello@buttersoftware.co from the address you gave us. We answer within 30 days and charge nothing. We will not treat you differently for asking.

Depending on where you live, laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR give you these rights and others, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

The site uses HTTPS and tells browsers to use nothing else. Only our team can read demo requests, through an export that needs a secret key. No system is perfectly secure, so we collect only what the form asks for.

Children

This site is for businesses. It is not meant for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you already gave us, we tell you by email first.
